Shipt Partnership Gives Delivery Memberships To Apartment Tenants

The personal shopper and same-day delivery service Shipt announced on Wednesday (July 28) that it has formed a partnership with the housing developer Continental Properties to provide free Shipt memberships to residents at nearly 60 of Contintental’s properties across the country.

“As many residents now prepare to head back into the office, Shipt can remove at least one thing from their to-do list: shopping at the store,” the companies said in a news release. The offer is open to residents at Continental’s Springs Apartments in Colorado, Texas, Florida and Illinois. The residents will get access to unlimited free delivery for the duration of their lease.

Shipt is a Target-owned Instacart rival that employs gig workers. The service will allow Spring Apartments residents to shop online, schedule a delivery time and pay for their order within the app. A Shipt shopper will then deliver groceries to their door in as little as one hour.

“Customer service is and always has been our top priority,” said Heather Riggs, Continental VP of operations. “This amazing partnership with Shipt will allow our residents to continue to enhance their living experience and spend more time with loved ones.”

“Both Shipt and Continental recognize trust and service as a top priority for our customers and residents,” said Rina Hurst, chief business officer at Shipt. “We’re thrilled to help meet the needs of Springs residents. With reliable Shipt Shoppers handling shopping and delivering from their favorite local retailers, residents can spend time on those things that matter most.”

This announcement comes three weeks after Shipt debuted a dietary preferences feature that allows shoppers to provide greater specificity with the foods they want to see on the platform. Shoppers can specify if they want keto-friendly products, have allergies to things like wheat or soy, or need to stick to a vegan diet.

Also this month, Shipt announced a partnership with the husband-and-wife home design duo Mr. Kate to issue content that focuses on the pair’s home improvement projects
