As we recently reported, “the pandemic has changed consumers’ relationships with insurance products. Even though the data says people utilized insurance less — since those who don’t leave their homes are far less prone to injury and illness — the pandemic caused those same homebound consumers to place a higher value on, and desire for, medical and life insurance.”
Clearly, change is happening in the sector. We see it too, in PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Insurance Apps, where more consumers downloading and using insurance apps is creating a blend of tied scores, shifting fortunes and new entrants keeping us glued to the screen.
Makes insurance seem kind of exciting, even without a ton of chart changes. Judge for yourself.
The Top Five
As for No. 2, the State Farm app is there, as it was last month.
Unchanged at No. 4, it’s still Jerry.ai: Car & Home Insurance doing its thing.
Samey-same with the Liberty Mutual Mobile app, holding steady at No. 5.
Not exciting enough? You may find the next grouping a bit more kinetic.
The Top 10
Among apps aspiring to the top five, we start with Lemonade Insurance, which has been so close to that line for a couple of cycles that it could break through.
Now for some changes, beginning with Travelers Mobile, climbing a spot to grab No. 7.
Cover — Insurance in a Snap rises one spot to take No. 9 this cycle.
We promised. We delivered. End of ranking. See you back here in a month.
