Corporate Gifting Platform Sendoso Snags $100M for Worldwide Growth

Sending platform Sendoso has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, money that will be used to speed up its worldwide growth as well as help with hiring new employees and rolling out new products, according to a Tuesday (Sept. 14) press release.

That includes opening a European headquarters in Ireland with its own logistics and supply chain setup for the company’s 20,000 customers around the world, the release stated.

SoftBank Vision Fund 2 led the round, which also saw participation from existing investors Oak HC/FT, Struck Capital, Stage 2 Capital, Craft Ventures, Signia Venture Partners and Felicis Ventures, according to the release.

Sendoso has now raised more than $152 million in total. Its customers include Comcast, Kimpton Hotels, Thomson Reuters, Nasdaq, eBay and others. The company has more than 500 employees across the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific and plans to increase its workforce 30% percent by the end of this year, the release stated.

“Sendoso combines an advanced [Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)] platform with the marketplace selection and logistics precision of Amazon.com,” said CEO and Co-Founder Kris Rudeegraap in the release. “This unique combination delivers on-brand execution at scale for corporate gifting. This funding round is a major milestone for Sendoso and will help us expand our products, services and global footprint.”

Last year, Sendoso teamed with Cameo to provide B2B purchasers with celebrity experiences.

“It’s become harder than ever to cut through digital clutter and make a real impact on customers,” Rudeegraap said at the time. “By teaming up with Cameo, we’re enabling our customers to deliver memorable experiences that deliver maximum ROI across marketing, sales and CX.”

Sendoso clients can offer tailored celebrity videos customized to the person who receives them.

The company also features “Sendoso Experiences,” which allow people to send recipients dance, cooking and cocktail making classes, and a meeting scheduler so senders can offer personal digital gifts for reserving times.
