Bespoke Beauty Brands To Launch Line Of Men’s Products

Beauty brand incubator Bespoke Beauty Brands will debut a new skincare brand for men on Friday (Aug. 20).

The brand, called Mai Johnson & Co., will carry a daily foam cleanser, toner, anti-aging skin serum, moisturizer, anti-aging night cream, eye cream, charcoal masks and body powder. Prices will range from $10 to $45.

“Men are becoming more interested in taking care of themselves and we felt there was a need in the market for a line of exceptional products that resonate with the guy’s guy,” said Alvin Hathaway, co-founder of Mai Johnson, in a statement.

The launch of the new brand follows a string of recent announcements in the beauty space. Last week, IL MAKIAGE announced the acquisition of artificial intelligence (AI) imaging startup Voyage81, which will allow the company to enhance its machine learning capabilities through patented hyperspectral imaging tools and prepare for beauty and wellness launches.

Voyage81’s software can map and analyze skin and hair features, detecting facial blood flows, and creating melanin and hemoglobin maps from a smartphone camera photo. The Voyage81 team will join IL MAKIAGE’s data sciences group to work on algorithms to improve the virtual shopping experience.

Voyage81 founders Niv Price, who serves as chief technology officer, Dr. Boaz Arad, who serves as chief vision officer and Omer Shwartz, VP of information security, will take leadership roles in IL MAKIAGE.

Groupon and beauty and wellness appointment app Booksy are teaming up to streamline the process of finding and booking appointments with salons, spas and other service providers using the Groupon Connect API platform.

Groupon merchants also get free six-month subscriptions to Booksy to manage customer bookings. Merchants can retain the free Booksy memberships with at least 10 Groupon bookings every month.

Plastic surgery, Botox and wrinkle injections, skin care, laser hair removal, massages, facial care and dental procedures among the most popular selections for Groupon customers in the second quarter of 2021.
