The B2B furniture marketplace Hello Raye has launched Snapshots, a web-based tool that lets clients see customized 3D design assets and 4K high-definition renderings in real time.
The company, which connects architects to furniture brands and their dealers, says this new product will let furniture and decor brands customize 3D files on the web without the need to install new software or plug-in requirements.
“We wanted to build a quick, cost-effective and easy-to-use way for furniture brands to create beautiful CGI product photography using their pre-existing 3D assets,” said CEO Brian Chiou.
The tool includes improved lighting, materials and render quality. Customers can quickly build and change layers for 3D assets to stay organized while producing bespoke renders, without the need to understand 3D software or programming languages.
“With Snapshots, we wanted to make 3D customization and visualization accessible and easy to use,” said CTO Brandon Zuech. “We were inspired by platforms like Canva and what it did to the industry of photo editing. We concentrated our efforts to create a user interface that was as simple to use as possible without compromising the quality of the final product renderings.”
PYMNTS reported on the changing face of the B2B commerce industry and the furniture world earlier this year, noting that it’s a sector where migrating to online platforms can be difficult, as business buyers often prefer to see potential products in person.
Samuel Hatcher, CEO of the furniture company Rustic Deco, said this factor was something he had to consider when launching the company’s digital wholesale platform.
In an interview with PYMNTS, he described the opportunities presented by a hybrid approach to B2B commerce, especially when it comes to corporate customers with complex buying needs. To meet those needs, Hatcher said, one of the things Rustic Deco is doing is investing in 3D imaging technology.
